WSJ. / THE DESIGNED WORLD
THE PEOPLE & IDEAS REDEFINING
FASHION, ART, CULTURE, INTERIORS,
TRAVEL AND BUSINESS
We knew the Deborah Needleman helmed glossy edition to the Wall Street Journal/ WSJ Magazine was going to be our new go-to when Anjelica Huston graced the February issue cover chic and legendary as ever in the Cedric Buchet spread and totally cool interview. The Jacques Grange editorial made us fall even harder, not to mention the addictive Tracked spread. Fast forward to today– we are honored to be featured in the latest issue, The Designed World– with our story highlighting Atelier Demiurge– BUILDING A BETTER ANTIQUE. Head to WSJ MAGAZINE to read the story. We suggest picking up a copy– It is a really wonderful issue.

SYRIE MAUGHAM
AMY PERLIN ANTIQUES
"Syrie Maugham (née Gwendoline Maud Syrie Barnardo, 10 July 1879 - 25 July 1955) was a leading British interior decorator of the 1920s and 1930s and best-known for popularizing rooms decorated entirely in shades of white. Although it cannot be said that Syrie was in the the first generation of interior designers, she did bring more freedom and creativity to the design profession. Elsie de Wolfe was quite formal, correct, and respectful, but Syrie drew from a various mixture of sources ranging from Picasso to baroque antiques. She reinvented classic furniture with crackled paint applications. She used strange colors. And she did the first all-white room."

NORISOL FERARRI / FEMININE TRUTH
CLAW ENCASED PEARL EARRINGS
Pearls are having a moment. We're not talking about the long dangling proper kind– the kind of pearl we squeal for is of a tougher ilk. A pearl that's naughty– yet still holds that feminine edge. Enter Norisol Ferarri's fab loft and we're hit with the Feminine Truth Collection, which we personally ordered the minute we laid eyes. Was she reading our minds? Was it possible she knew that we were yearning for pearls the minute we saw a certain designer send Abbey Lee and co down the runway in none other than velvet embellished with pearls? Well, that's the thing about Norisol (she does the most incredible bespoke leather and fur work, which you'll see soon enough) she knows how to hit that haute spot.
